ROOF INSPECTION by 15m MAST

Regular roof inspections really are something that will pay dividends over the years with the National Roofing Contractors Association recommend that regular professional inspections are ideal to keep your roof in top condition alongside less formal checks carried out by the homeowner. Asphalt and wooden shingled roofs should be inspected every three years with tiled roofs being professionally examined every five years.

Shingles and tiles provide the armor to your roof but they are vulnerable to degradation over time or damage in storm conditions.

When this damage does occur, it can leave the underlying roof layers vulnerable and even result in expensive damage inside your home through water ingress.

Properly maintained, your roof can keep your house dry and warm for decades with most tile roofs having a predicted life span of a century.  It’s a good investment to keep it professionally inspected and maintained when required – offering both savings and peace of mind in the long term.

Traditional inspection methods can have several drawbacks.  Climbing on broken tiles and shingles can worsen any existing problems.  The erection of scaffolding and hiring of elevated platforms can require weeks of advance planning, additional costs, and of course, there are the health and safety risks involved with working at height.  Even when you have a person working safely on your roof, it might simply be impossible or impractical for them to visually inspect all areas.

Put a drone in the sky above your home and the vast majority of these problems simply vanish.  High-quality images and video can offer at least as much information to the trained eye.  In fact, the ability to access all areas and angles in a non-destructive, non-intrusive manner can even provide a fuller picture of your roof’s condition than traditional methods. Footage and photography can be shared easily between the relevant parties allowing comprehensive review and analysis from the comfort of a desktop or tablet. All the necessary planning can then take place for targeted repairs to be carried out. Alternatively, if no problems are spotted, there’s no need to incur any further cost than the short and inexpensive flight itself.

But what if it’s not possible to fly a drone at your location, or the cost too prohibited? Then a great alternative to using a drone is a commercial photographic mast…

Of course, drones are not the right choice in all cases and locations. Inspection flights do require the right weather conditions and also the necessary legal permissions.  These can be problematic to obtain if the property is in a congested area or in close proximity to an airport or other protected location. Therefore, Drone Media imaging, have another aerial inspection tool that can carry out the task without these factors being an issue.  Our telescopic mast allows for easy inspection of properties up to three storeys and simply requires a relatively small footprint to accommodate its freestanding tripod. Our service team will be able to advise you on the best solution for your circumstances to achieve the results that you need.

NO LEGAL DISTANCE RESTRICTIONS

Masts are not required to remain a 30m/50m distance from People, Property, Vessels and Vehicles. This allows us to get in close for all inspection work whether filming video or capturing photographic of Thermal images

NO BATTERY & TIME LIMITATIONS

Unlike Drone flights, Masts are not restricted by time due to battery depletion. This means that with Mast photography, video and thermal capture the session can continue for much longer periods of time, capturing much more

NO WEATHER DEPENDENCY

Drones can not fly in bad weather conditions, unlike Mast photography, video and thermal capture when using appropriate weather protected coverings/material, sessions can continue in rain and much higher wind conditions.

The following camera technology is available with Mast Photography, Video and Thermal Imaging
