Project Dipper – a Drone that Swims and Soars.

This incredible innovation in drone technology is the brainchild of a group of 8 engineering students from ETH Zurich – a fixed wing drone that can be launched into the skies and seamlessly transition from air to water.

Taking it’s inspiration from the natural world and looking to mimic the action of diving seabirds, this potentially groundbreaking project gives us a glimpse into the future. The drone can be launched into the air where it can then dive underwater and move freely in any direction. On reaching the surface again, it can expand it’s wings and take off from the water’s surface to become airborne once more.
